I left a 20-year tech career in Silicon Valley to return home and build Star Farm — a boutique landscape hotel near New River Gorge. Cathedral Cabin is the first structure I built by hand while working two full-time jobs.
My goal is to blend Scandinavian design with Appalachian roots, creating spaces that feel calm, intentional, and built to last. I love great design, good coffee, and clear starry nights.

The cabin sits on ten private acres just outside Fayetteville, West Virginia — close enough that major trailheads like Long Point, Endless Wall, and Diamond Point are within ten to fifteen minutes by car.

Cathedral Cabin sleeps two. The bedroom has a king bed with Egyptian cotton linens, and the cabin is designed as a couples retreat — a quiet, adults-only stay for two.
Is Cathedral Cabin suitable for children?

No — Cathedral Cabin is designed for couples, not children. Occupancy is limited to two adults, and we are not able to accommodate children or infants.
What amenities does Cathedral Cabin include?

Each stay includes a Nespresso Vertuo espresso machine, Aesop bath products, plush robes and towels, a deep soaking tub, a smart TV with streaming apps, 500 Mbps wifi, dual-zone climate control, a private fire pit, and full access to the ten-acre grounds for stargazing and walks. There is no resort fee — the rate you see at checkout is the rate.

No — we do not permit pets at Cathedral Cabin, including service animals.
What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellations made 60 or more days before check-in receive a full refund; cancellations between 30 and 60 days receive 50% of the nightly rate and cleaning fee back (with taxes refunded in full); inside 30 days the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows and early departures forfeit the full reservation. A few practical notes: West Virginia winter storms and occasional Gorge flooding are not grounds for a refund, but we will work with you on a one-time date shift as a goodwill gesture. Date changes outside 30 days are free; inside 30 days they are at host discretion. Genuine natural disasters and similar force majeure events are reviewed case by case. Refunds process to your original payment method within 5 to 10 business days. Plans change — we offer optional Travel Protection at checkout. With Travel Protection, you can cancel for any reason up to 48 hours before check-in and receive a full refund of the nightly rate and cleaning fee.
